Bishop Conway Green was born on May 10, 1901 in Newport News, Virginia. He was the last offspring of 12 children from the late Calvin and Emily Green. Elder Green was formally trained in the public school system of Newport News, Virginia and Baltimore, Maryland respectively.
On December 24th, 1918, Elder C. Green was united in holy matrimony to the former Rose Etter Samuels of Pee Dee, South Carolina. Elder and Sister Green relocated to Baltimore in 1925. It was during this year that Elder Green joined THE CHURCH OF GOD (Gospel Spreading Association) which was founded and pastored by the late Elder Lightfoot Solomon Micheaux. It was in this church where Elder C. Green was saved, baptized, and served as a soloist in the famous Cross Choir.
In the year of 1928, God called Elder C. Green to the gospel ministry. His initial trial sermon was entitled, "Where Art Thou?" where his text was taken from Genesis 3:9. It was during this same year that Elder Green was licensed and ordained.

"And the Lord answered me, and said, write the vision, and make it plain upon the tables the he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry" (Habakkuk 2:2-3).

Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a period to recognize the role of blacks in U.S. history. This event grew out of “Negro History Week,” the creation and inspiration of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. president has officially designated February as Black History Month. Other countries, including Canada and the United Kingdom devote a month to celebrating black history.
